New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, Classic and Progressive Rock

Damn Dice Wild ‘N’ Ready Review.

Damn Dice Wild N Ready EPGet ready to start hearing a lot about a quite new band – Damn Dice. I’ve been sent a review copy of their upcoming EP Wild ‘N’ Ready and a most pleasing listen it is. Release date is 21 October. I’d describe it as a real in yer face good time ‘80s hair metal/sleaze mix with a dash of punk. Very loud, big guitar, big choruses. Shout-along stuff. Think back to bands like Skid Row, Motley Crue, Poison and similar in their heyday and you’d not be far off.

The EP features six tracks all of which rock along very nicely. I normally like my rock/metal to be a bit more er, “refined” shall I say. However I found Damn Dice to be a very pleasurable listen from the first spin and it’s the power of the whole thing that gets you. A huge sound all round, quite an aural assault. I’d imagine that these boys are a real treat to see live.

The EP takes hold from the opening riff of Bang Your Head then it’s a similar vein over the remainder. Huge riffs, solos, backbeat and strong soaring vocals. Not very subtle though that’s not what Damn Dice are about. If you want it loud then you have it here. Right between the eyes (or ears……).

The band got together in 2011 and have created a lot of buzz about themselves already including a support slot on a European tour with LA Guns.  The Wild ‘N’ Ready EP should see them build on that and one hopes bigger things would follow.

The music sums up their philosophy. As the accompanying bio said: “live your life, don’t think twice, just roll the damn dice”.

From what I can see the EP will be available for just a fiver. Sacrifice just one super-sized Big Mac Meal and bag yourself one. Slap it on the in car, turn it up loud and enjoy yourself.
