New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, Classic and Progressive Rock

Troyen Reform. Playing Brofest #3.

TroyenThe New Wave of British Heavy Metal revival continues….Email from Jeff Baddley telling me that his band Troyen have reformed with the original line-up and set to play at Brofest #3 next February. Troyen had a brief career at the height of NWOBHM – formed in 1980 and split in late 1982.

They gigged around supporting a few name acts of the time – for example Girlschool and Diamond Head to name a couple. A European tour supporting Nightwing also happened gaining some attention for Troyen in Germany.

As to recording output – very little. There was a demo cut which sold a few hundred copies and some radio play. That caught the attention of Neat Records and a recording contract was mooted involving a single/EP and possible album though the band split before that was due to happen.

So not much to shout about for Troyen back in the “old days”. Though now the original line up is back together and signed up for Brofest #3 in February 2015. Good stuff eh.

Troyen is:
Jeff Baddley – Drums + Backing Vocals
Nick Mannion (Cookson) – Lead Guitar / Vocals
Steve McGuire – Lead Guitar / Vocals
Dave Strathearn – Bass
Neil Traynor – Vocals

P.S: Jeff tells me that they will be at Brofest as the original Troyen four piece without Neil Traynor on Vocals who only joined in early 1982, Steve McGuire will be lead vocals.
