Bob Katsionis: Prognosis and Synopsis.

Bob Katsionis Prognosis and SynopsisHere’s one which arrived in NWOBHM Towers for review from Angels PR. So pleased they took the time. It’s by Bob Katsionis titled Prognosis and Synopsis.

Bob has a good pedigree having worked with the likes of Firewind, Revolution Renaissance and Nightfall and done plenty of writing for Greek-based bands.

What we have with Prognosis and Synopsis is a very tasty album consisting of all instrumental cuts of a heavy/progressive/symphonic nature featuring some excellent guitar/keys/synth interplay o9f the highest order with some real punch behind them.

Bob stretches out to demonstrate his own multi-instrumental talent by playing all guitars, bass and keys assisted by a solid drumming showing from Vangelis Moraitis.

This album instantly impressed my from the first spin and held my attention throughout. Not a weak moment anywhere.

Check out the opener – Prognosis – which is a fine example of what’s to follow. Spacey, punchy, bombastic, superb guitar/keys, Great stuff:

And so it continues with every track having something different to offer the listener.

Although strongly heavy/progressive in overall style, Bob goes in to more ambient territory with Dark Matter and Amnesia which have a relaxing feel to them. Either track wouldn’t be out of place as background music to a science fiction film. Eerily spooky in parts.

Given the high quality of progressive/power metal on show here it’s all the more remarkable to discover it was recorded in only fifteen days.

Get yourself over to Bob’s BandCamp page from where you can listen to tracks and bag your copy – either download or “proper” CD.
