New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, Classic and Progressive Rock

Two Obscure NWOBHM Releases Due This Month

Radio Free MoscowThe wonderful Obscure NWOBHM Releases label have somehow unearthed another couple of New Wave of British Heavy Metal era bands who went very much under the radar.

Both are due to be released on 24th April .

As usual with the label will be limited edition CD runs of 500 each.

This time it is Radio Free Moscow and Renegade.

Radio Free Moscow were a follow-on from a Derbyshire based band named Warrior.

They didn’t last long though did cut a six-song demo. Somehow Obscure NWOBHM Releases have magicked it up from somewhere along with a seventh track.

The CD is named Time Waits for No Man after one of the demo songs.

Here’s one of the songs – Streetfighter:

As to Renegade, they were from Northern Ireland and released a solitary single before their time was up. That single is on the CD along with some six songs recorded though not released until now.

Here’s their single – I Don’t Need The Fighting Man

How Obscure NWOBHM Releases keep managing to discover stuff from so many bands who would otherwise remain largely forgotten I have no idea, though long may they keep doing what they do.

Go to their site now to see all the fine work they do:

Some superb bands on there which you may or may not recall from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal days such as Wildfire, Zandar Zan, Phantasm, Dragonfly and many others.
