New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, Classic and Progressive Rock

Jeremy Ross Lawler: Last to Fall.

Jeremy Ross Lawler Last to FallI think Jeremy Ross Lawler is a name you’re going to hear plenty about in the future if his debut solo project single Last to Fall is anything to go by.

Jeremy kindly sent me a promo CD – though you modern downloading/streaming types can get it on the likes of Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Music etc., or in other words all the places which are beyond the understanding of an old git like me…….

Jeremy was formerly a member of Winter’s Edge. After leaving the band in March ’19 he has forged out solo with Last to Fall being the first output of that project and the forerunner of a planned album (also to be called The Last to Fall) which Jeremy is working on.

So what about the single……it’s epic stuff. A dark tale based on that Lucifer chappie being cast out of heaven and trying to find a way back in.

All the elements of a fine heavy/rock song are present. Various helpings of rifferama, melody, chunky chords, progressive, symphonic, gothic and some excellent vocals to boot from Carsten Hille.

Expertly arranged and performed by an ensemble cast which amongst others notably features Mike Le Pond on Bass. Perhaps Mike had some influence on proceedings as Last to Fall does remind your reviewer somewhat of earlyish Symphony X a-la Twilight on Olympus.

Fancy a watch of the lyric video? Of course you do. And here it is.

If you liked that (and why wouldn’t you?) then I say download your copy from your service of choice.

I’ll now be awaiting news of the debit album. Anything like this single and it’ll be a cracker for sure.
