New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, Classic and Progressive Rock

Medusa Touch: Terror Eyes: The Anthology

Medusa Touch Terror Eyes the AnthologyHere we go with another “lost” band from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal early days. This time it’s Medusa Touch from Edinburgh.

They formed in 1982, gigged around a lot, built up a respectable following though never managed to get a recording out in any form back then.

That has been put right now thanks to Obscure NWOBHM Releases releasing stuff the band did have laid down but not released.

And want one you will whether NWOBHM aficionado or plain old rock/metal fan.

Each of the baker’s dozen cuts is a proper, muscular rocker. Crisp riffing and hooks, sharp soloing, powerful vocals, memorable choruses. Simply stonking! Why oh why did Medusa Touch not make it with talent like this?

Style-wise it’s NWOBHM all right with some UFO, AD/DC and Thin Lizzy chucked in.

Particular favourites include Craze Amazing with its sort of Celtic Lizzy vibe, Street Legal thumping along, Man in Black with the big chords, Road to Freedom for the same reason and RBS.

Have a listen to RBS now and you’ll get how good Medusa Touch were/are:

Not a weak track or any filler in sight (or sound……) anywhere here.

I said how good Medusa Touch were/are before the video. Well, the “are” comes in to it because the band is active and slotted to play at Brofest next year.

If you’d like to get your ears around the CD, act fast. It’s a limited run of 500 copies. Bagged mine from Sonic Age Records: https://sonicagerecords.com/

Check out Medusa Touch’s Facebook page too: https://www.facebook.com/medusatouch

And with new releases from Grim Reaper and Anel Witch due in the next few weeks, it’s NWOBHM boom time. I have both on pre-order and will review both here after release.
