The mighty Tygers of Pan Tang are remain very much on the prowl some fifty years after formation and becoming one of the finest bands at the forefront of New Wave of British Heavy Metal days.
So good that we have bands from back then still with us and still producing top class music. The Tygers being no exception.
Indeed – they are releasing a new single in a few days on 4th May 2026 and a new album is set to follow later this year.
The single is titled Electrifyed and it features their new guitarist – John Foottit – who joined the Tygers a few months ago.
It’s a heck of a song too. Huge cutting riff, equally huge chorus and the familiar ripping lead work.
Reminds me very much of the type of stuff they were doing all the way back in the early days of Spellbound and Crazy Nights.
As to the new album – it’s been three years or thereabouts since the excellent Bloodlines, which is a very fine piece of work.
Based on how good Electrifyed is, if that’s a taster of what the new album is going to be like, that’ll be a winner too.
Bar the wasteland years of The Wreck-Age and Burning in the Shade, the Tygers have not disappointed.
This new single shows they remain at the top of their game. Certainly whets the anticipation for the new album.
Electrifyed is a digital only release so I suppose you digital types will know where to find it.
For those of you who remain stuck in the past as I am and prefer a physical product, we’re out of luck this time.
However – here’s a video of the Tygers performing Electrifyed at a recent performance in Spain
Jolly good isn’t it?
