In October 2020, Rob from Squib Kick Records got in touch and sent me a copy of the debut album from his project Rich Kid Express.
Rob said he created Rich Kid Express as a fun, solo project that strives to bring back the vintage vibe of classic hard rock!
I enjoyed that debut album – entitled Psychodelic – and you can read the review here.
Now he’s got back in touch again to tell me about a new EP by Rich Kid Express which is due for releases on 15 September 2023. It’s called Under the Purple Lights.

This collection of (5) retro flavoured rock/hard rock songs is enough to make any classic rock fan stand up and take notice! You’ll be raising your mug of beer in the air and nodding your head to the riffs & hooks all throughout the (18 minutes) of groovy ear candy! It’s a one man circus!

- U Never…. – a delightful, up tempo metal edged song giving a nod to Judas Priest/Alice Cooper.
- Hard Time Lady – a guitar driven, riff rock song reminiscent of old KISS/Ace Frehley & Sweet.

- That’s The Way – *PROJECTED SINGLE* – a bit of Glam Rock 70’s and Power Pop. CATCHY!!
