Rockstar Frame Rock ‘n’ Roll Mafia Review

Rockstar-FrameIn a recent post I introduced you to Italian hard rockers Rockstar Frame through a press release I received from their PR company. I’ve now (well, a few days ago….) received a copy of their album Rock ‘n’ Roll Mafia so here’s a review.

This hits hard and loud. Make no mistake. Fifteen songs (there’s an extra one here on the CD version to make that fifteen) each between three and four minutes in length. And each one comes at you right between the ears. Plenty of power and passion packed in to the cuts. So what’s it sound like? If I am to try and cover that one – tricky.

If Motorhead were Italian with a female singer you might be in the “ball park”. Add in a touch of sleaze and some (to these ears at least) a bit of GnR, early Poison and Skid Row to that as well. Even a bit of NWOBHM in there not least the massive riffs, powerchords and frantic soloing from Morris Steel. A sound of his own though reminiscent of Fast Eddie himself.

The keys from Ace Wave add some nice touches to fill out the sound even more and add some melody. Huge drumming, throbbing bass and some really excellent vocal work from Faith Blurry. Some lungs there girl.

It’s not refined – I guess it’s not supposed to be – but Rockstar Frame have such an energetic approach it’s infectious. Hard/heavy rock/metal with some power and soul which has a huge overall feel. That hard hitting sound isn’t simply a full-on assault. There’s some melody to the power and Blurry’s vocals are right up there with any female rock vocalist you can think of past or present.

The band is attracting some attention from the “biz” and it’s not hard to hear why with Rock ‘n’ Roll Mafia. This listener gets the feeling that this band could go places and has the musical ability and talent to do just that. A recommended listen indeed. The opening Track “Guilt” will nail you straight away.
