Around eighteen months or so ago, Tailgunner released their debut album titled Guns For Hire.
The band’s powerful, hard-hitting no nonsense style harking very much back to the New Wave of British Heavy Metal days yet having a fresh feel to it.
If you will, a sort of New New Wave of British Heavy Metal…..! I liked Guns for Hire very much, and reviewed it here.
Now the band is set to release their follow-up to Guns for Hire – which is titled Midnight Blitz – on 6th February 2026 via Napalm Records.
And it is produced by none other than K.K. Downing – please don’t try to tell me you don’t know who he is.
The new album is made up of ten songs with a running time of around three quarters of an hour and based on the video for the title track, Midnight Blitz will carry on where Guns for Hire left off and be a monster of an album of heaviness with the NWOBHM influences remaining.
To coincide with the release, Tailgunner will hit the road in early February as support to Fozzy, which includes a date at KK’s Steel Mill.
