New Wave of British Heavy Metal legends Tokyo Blade have a four disc box set due out on 21st November 2025.
Just a couple of months away from the time of this post. Good news eh?
Back at the start of this year, they released a superb new album title Time is the Fire.
That’s a cracker and shows that after all the years since forming in 1982 in the NWOBHM days they’ve lost nothing and remain top notch.
And now we have this new box set to look forward to in a few weeks.
It includes a mixture of classic, rare, live and unreleased stuff spanning 1983 – 2025 over the four CDs.
It breaks down like this…..
CD1 and CD 2: all sorts of songs spanning their career from the start to present day. That’s thirty songs for you right there.
CD3: their live set from the Earthquake Festival, Holland in 1984.
CD4: fourteen previously unreleased songs which have been selected by Tokyo Blade guitarist Andy Boulton from his archive of unused Blade material.
Over the four CDs you have over fifty songs to enjoy. Quite a lot of “bang for your buck” there as it’s listed at around £30. What’s that – somewhere around 60p per song if my old CSE Grade 4 maths from 1978 holds up.
The accompanying booklet has interviews with Boulton and Andy March plus all sorts of photographs.
Here’s Man on the Stair from Time is the Fire.
And a reminder about the new box set release date – 21 November 2025. Pre-ordered mine from Amazon. You can too.
