Tytan were one of my all time favourite NWOBHM bands. Their sole album – Rough Justice – is a masterpiece of slightly-proggy in yer face New Wave of British Heavy Metal. I wrote a previous post about the band which you can read here if you’re curious. A few days ago I stumbled on to Tytan’s new web site – tytanmusic.com – and got in touch via the form thingy on there to tell them about this humble blog…….
Steve Mann from the band replied very quickly and (kindly) gave a mention on their Facebook page and Twitter thingy. Steve also tells me that Tytan are back and is making “substantial” plans for 2013. And that they are appearing at Hard Rock Hell on 1 December and Birmingham Roadhouse on 2 December. All good stuff and great as ever to see another NWOBHM original back in action.

Breaking news – Hard Rock Hell have now made the slots public as to who is playing where and when, and Tytan are playing on Saturday 1st December on the Doom n Metal stage from 15:45 to 16:30. Needless to say we are really, really looking forward to hitting that stage… it’s gonna be a goodie – we feel it in our Tytan bones!!
Still looking at options available to us for recording the new album. One way or another it will happen, but the pledging idea is something which appeals to us as it’s a win-win situation all round (except for record companies who are kept well out of it!) It also means that we can produce a higher quality product than we could otherwise produce without the financial advance – but we will of course keep you posted as to how things go. Newsletter readers will be the first to hear anything..
We’d really appreciate the spreading of the Tytan word as much as possible. We are trying to get the word out through all the usual social media channels and our website, but it’s a slow process. But it’s a process which will slowly escalate (we’re seeing it start to pick up already). But there are still masses out there who know Tytan and would gladly follow us – but just don’t know about us yet (and many who don’t even know we’re back together). So if any of you have blogs or websites or whatever and fancy giving us a plug, link to our website @ http://tytanmusic.com. We’d really appreciate it.
