Saxon were NWOBHM pioneers and are still active touring and recording. I always found them a little bit too “cheesy” for my liking with stuff like Denim and Leather. All somewhat cliched in my opinion though I guess they could put on a show – I have a vague memory of seeing them at the Sheffield City Hall once or twice.
Although never “my cup of tea” they had (and have) a large fan base. As Saxon emerged from just down the road from me in Yorkshire I thought I’d start with a “local” band and foubd this video on YouTube of Biff and the boys banging out Strong Arm of the Law – considered a classic by many.
