No Remorse Records are due to release a 2025 remastered version of Virtue’s We Stand to Fight on 3rd October.
A proper classic of New Wave of British Heavy Metal history.
Consisting of five tracks, it’s more of an EP rather than a full album as Virtue didn’t manage too much by way of recorded output, though these five tracks are glorious NWOBHM.
We have the We Stand to Fight single plus the Fools Gold demo. Virtue were popular locally and tried hard.
However it seems money (or a lack of….) was a problem they couldn’t overcome despite putting in the effort.
Big label EMI came sniffing around although a record deal wouldn’t materialise.
Virtue kept plugging away despite that setback until after various line-up changes it all came to end end with a day being called around 1988.
Their style here in these five tracks is pure NWOBHM.
If you like your Angel Witch, Tytan, Mythra, Avenger and similar, then surely you’ll find Virtue pleasing to your ears.
