The great and the good at Obscure NWOBHM Releases continue their excellent Sherlock Holmes style detective work to re-discover two more bands from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal days and give their long-lost work an audience.
This time the bands are China Doll and White Roxx. Both are due for release on 15 December 2025 and as usual with the label, both are limited editions of 500cds.
So obscure were China Doll and White Roxx there isn’t much to go on.
For example China Doll go back to 1978. They released a solitary single – Oysters and Wine – in 1980 and that was that.
As it turns out, one of their concerts held in Dorset ( I thing China Doll were from that area) was partially recorded and is now on the CD together with the A and B sides of Oysters and Wine.
As to White Roxx – they go back to 1983 and were from the County Antrim region of Northern Ireland.
They took their name from a local tourist spot known as White Rocks and hung around until for a few years without really going anywhere in particular.
Although they did record an album which was never officially released.
However now here is is thanks to Obscure NWOBHM Releases on this limited edition CD also including an old demo.
As mentioned – both the China Doll and White Roxx CDs are due out on 15 December 2025 – just a couple of weeks or so from time of posting.
