Airforce history can be traced all the way back to their origins in the New Wave of British Heavy Metal days of the 1980s.
And they have a new album titled Acts of Madness due to be released in February next year (2025).
It’s been a long time – some five years – since the excellent Strike Hard and I’m looking forward to Acts of Madness with some anticipation.
Former Iron Maiden drummer Doug Sampson – who was tub thumping for Maiden in their early days prior to Clive Burr – remains and whilst it didn’t happen for Airforce back in the day and splitting in the 1990s they’d later reform and that fine debut album of Strike Hard is a good ‘un.
Acts of Madness is slotted for release on 21 February 2025 – not long after the new album from Tokyo Blade’s new one due on 17th January. Thus next year promises to be a strong start for legacy NWOBHM bands.
Airforce have overcome significant setbacks to complete Acts of Madness following the sad passing of their producer Pete Franklin meaning the band have got things together restarting and reconstructing from demos for the album with it being dedicated to Pete.
At time of posting I couldn’t find any pre-release videos to give a taster, so here’s Finest Hour from Strike Hard for what Airforce are all about:
If Acts of Madness is anywhere as good as Strike Hard it should be top notch indeed.
