Two more long forgotten bands from the original New Wave of British Heavy Metal days have somehow been rediscovered (it keeps happening doesn’t it – and long may it continue)
The bands in question are Eazy Street (with a Z, not an S) and Force Nine. So under the radar were these two bands, I can’t tell you much about either of them. But I’ll try…..
Their various singles and demos from back then now released in limited edition CD runs of just 300 copies each.
Eazy Street were from not too far up the road from here in a place called Sildsen in Yorkshire. A smallish town up on the edges of the Yorkshire moorlands above Bradford.
They worked around the local circuit with not too much to show for it. There’d be a single – Quest for Glory – in 1984 and that was that before they called time in the mid-1980s.
In this anthology – entitled Quest for Glory – we have that single, a four track demo and live recordings of the single from 2015.
Have a listen to Let ‘Em Rock:
With regard to Force Nine, they hailed from the Preston area in Lancashire and a similar profile to Eazy Street.
Local gigging, a single/EP in 1983 and some demos. That’s it.
This anthology includes the single/SP, a couple of demos and one song recorded in 2011 with original members Dave Slater and Mick Burland.
Have a listen to Sands of Time
As mentioned above, both CDs are limited to 300 copies so act fast if you want one.
