Not content with the Uriah Heep and Nazareth box sets, Cherry Red pulling out more stops – this time with the announcement of a new album from New Wave of British Heavy Metal veterans Tokyo Blade.
It’s titled Hoist the Colours High and is scheduled for a release date of 21 August 2026.
We all know, don’t we, Tokyo Blade started with that self-titled debut album in 1983 and the all-time NWOBHM-era classic of Night of the Blade before a split in the mid-1980s.
The classic line-up reformed around a decade ago with some fine albums appearing and the previous studio album of Time is the Fire last year being a cracker.
And also last year we had the Beware the Blade box set.
Now in a few weeks we have new Hoist the Colours High album to look forward to. Fourteen tracks of what will be high class stuff if the early single of Screaming Evil is anything to go by. Here it is:
I believe the single is digital only and you should be able to find it on your digital platform of choice.
I’ll be waiting for the album as I my preference remains for physical products only.
